Fantastic location here for one of the lowest trig pillars in Scotland. Done on the evening before the Relative Hills Society organised boat trip to Sanda Island, and it really is quite an West Coast speciality this one.

It's been a while Triggers, my first one since 30th March last year. Stopping over at the Loch Melfort hotel up at Arduaine for a few nights, we traveled down to the Mull and parked up at the Gigha ferry terminal and walked north along the beach, past the Point Sands Holiday Park to Rhunahaorine point, just sly of 2 miles. Trig easily spotted a couple of hundred yards around the corner from the old lookout building. After the return walk, stopped in at Tarbert for lunch at the excellent Starfish Restaurant.

Walked along beach and Kintyre Way from Tayinloan as there was 45 minutes to wait for the Gigha ferry. This was a pretty tough walk as most of it is on soft sand so took longer than expected and hence missed my ferry by ten minutes or so.Well worth the detour however as the views over to Pap of Jura are stunning.
