We visited whilst enjoying a fine walk around Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, nipping off the ROW as it heads downhill to Austin Head and following the scrubby field boundary. The low wire fence is easily stepped over. Disconcertingly there has been a caravan placed in the trig field, but it was empty today. Pillar in good condition with original cap. It has a somewhat exposed footing and some weathering, but with superb views. We returned the same way - no crops or livestock to disturb. Revisit for me, pillar #45 for my little trigbagger.

Glorious spot for a trig to sit. Lovely views to the south and south-west and a fine little spot as part of a dry stone wall. Pillar in really good condition despite the usual weathering and lichen, and some of the foundation is exposed. Walked up from Hutton-le-Hole via the footpath to Spaunton. Quickly diverted from the ROW and just followed the field edges - no crops to damage. Great trig for a summer's evening.
