Not many on here have made the point that this trig is on private land and therefore trespass is necessary to reach it. Once you get to the ladder stile, you'll see a stone wall with a tattered barbed wire fence, both easy to get over. then turn left and follow the fence line up to the trig in the next field. I was quick to get my selfie and leave as I felt uneasy being in the eyesight of a farm and stables. Not a particularly enjoyable visit. On to Ox Stones next.

Parked at Firs Farm & walked up the footpath. The top of the trig is just visible from the highest point of the path. Decent views over Sheffield but there are much better trigs to visit in the area.

Came up the path from Ringinglow Road, over stile and followed wall up to pillar. Once there had to climb the wall and double barbed wire to reach the pillar. Easy enough. Great views of Sheffield on the initial climb to the stile.

Parked on Ringinglow Road. Took the public right of way (PRoW) from there up to SK 30045 83677. Left the PRoW at this point and then climbed over a stone wall topped by barbed wire at SK 29961 83656. Then climbed over a gate into the trig field, where the pillar can be found slightly to the NE of the gate next to the stone wall that forms the SE boundary of the field

Circular walk from Fox House. Approached from Firs Farm then field edge but getting to trig involves an awkward barbwire fence to squeeze under one strand and over the next. Flush bracket faces west.

Took a detour to visit this pillar whilst walking the Sheffield Round Walk. Generally in good condition with the spider in tact. Good views of the southern outskirts of the Sheffield area.

Feeling very down in the dumps today, could almost weep with everything going on and so sad saying farewell to the EU. Therefore a heavy heart was dragged around todays two pillars. A PRoW running W side of the farm will take you directly to this pillar. If you dont cross the double stiles you can walk up to the trig and access it through a gate. No walls to scramble over. I gift to my last run for RED (Run Everyday December). Speaks for itself, and a lot easier this year than 2019. Great community of various standards, but most running on their own and non competitive.

Easy off road parking on Ringinglow road, PROW either side of farm takes you to the trig, The trig is on the other side of a wall and can be seen easy or a small climb over will get you to it

(1548) Solidly raining all day, but it eased off a bit as I got to this one. Parked on the verge, and walked back to the start of the PRoW, and followed that to the pillar. Just a stone wall topped with barbed wire to then circumvent to capture the FB etc. All in good condition. Pillar history: Built on the 14th of July 1938, at a cost of £4 7s 3d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1985.

Parked opposite Norfolk Arms in Ringinglow (large layby). Easy walk along Limb Brook. Quite steep climb at end. Make sure you are south side of Boundary wall.

Parked on Ringinglow Road by Firs Farm and followed footpath due south as per Downfaller. The pillar is over a wall but access is easy. Very good all round views today. This route looks a lot shorter than going through the woods.

Approached from the limb valley,up through the steep woods,over a stile and skirted the perimeter till the pillar was located over the wall.plenty of activity down the farm below so didnt scale the wall,the fb wasnt noted as it faces towards the farm,but the pillar is easily touchable if thats your thing!revisit 23/11/20,this time a quick up and down the fp and field boundary from the road,still able to touch the pillar!!!

Parked on verge off the Ringinglow Rd just opposite the PROW heading South up to the TP. Path a little overgrow with nettles etc., not good for shorts ! When you get to the point where you climb the big stile followed by the small hop over stile - recommend you turn Right and follow the wall edge around the field for approx. 50 mts. TP just over the wall. Excellent sunny day plus superb views out over Sheffield and beyond.

Farmers were cutting hay in the adjacent field so I made do with just a view from over the fence.

The third of a five trigpoint walk starting from Blacka Plantation – walked over from Ox Stones. I could see the trigpoint from the footpath to the east and tried to cut across the fields but was defeted by barbed wire and the open view to the farm – got back into the Limb Valley and ascended the path on steep bank to the west – new wire and steel gates stopped me getting in the trigpoint field. Continued onto Totley.

From Ox Stones via perimeter of Lady Canning's Plantation and into the Limb Valley before taking PROW towards Firs Farm. Knew I was close but couldn't see it at first as it is tucked right up against a wall. Recorded as slightly damaged because there is a noticeable crack near the base right across the face nearest the wall. Views nothing special. According to this website Ringinglow is my closest trig that is still in existence.

Easy access via footpaths. By wall in field, trig surrounded by cows using it as a scratching post. Top metalwork all there, couldn't see plate because of cows. Lovely clear evening,excellent views over Sheffield and surrounding hills and valleys.

Walked in from Firs Farm along a footpath which isn't shown on my 1:50 000 110 map. The hay had just been cut, walked round the top field to the trig which was in an adjacent field. Could touch the trig over the wall but didn't climb over as the farmers were out gathering hay in.

On my bike today. At Smeltings Farm I was told to ask at Hangram Lane Farm for permission as it was on their land. No problems, a good trig with good views of Sheffield to the east.

We approached this one from the public footpath that comes up from Firs Farm. There were two calves and their mothers in the field so we had to give them a wide berth - just as well, because if a cow mother's looks could kill…. Anyway, the trig is in the corner of the next field up against a dry stone wall surmounted with barbed wire, and the flush bracket is facing away from the wall. Would have climbed over to get the FB number but there were some horsy people on their mounts in the field below us so it seemed a little impolite to do so. OS list the FB as S2153. Metal plug with lightly indented lettering.
