Parked opposite a gate on the B7055 immediately west of the plantation. Decent track for the first 500 metres then rough pasture to the summit and just 2 fences to hop. Good going due to a month or so without any significant rain. Sunny and breezy at the top and good 360 views. Pillar still damaged but doesn't appear to be any worse than previous logs. An hour up and down including time for photos.

From minor road to SE. Good grassy ATV up wall from NT915310. After half a mile leave this for a gate @ NT 910315 and follow fence line NW (forest felled) on pasture. Several un-mapped fences to climb. Gate onto fell @ NT894322 - no path/trod from here - not too rough

P146. Went down track across from moto place and through forest. Parked at turning area. Then followed tree break to fields and then kept crossing fields and moorland to the trig in the mist. No views today. Cheers.

Parked at the forestry track opposite the motocross centre and followed the track until it curved left then crossed through the break in the trees. A bit wet underfoot in the long grass, but once across the fence at the other side, the grass was shorter due to the sheep and a much easier walk up to the trig. Trig base crumbling with iron work exposed. Concrete around the spider eroding too. Round trip of 3 1/2 miles and took 1 1/2 hours.

Walked up with Mrs B on Leap Day. Damaged pillar especially around the base with crumbling concrete and visible angle iron internals. Cap is missing and no plug present. Good 360 views of the surrounding hills. Came up via Mountstewart. Round the back of the farm, through the gates and then followed the faint quadtrack.

Hazy skies but good views towards Tinto, the Lowthers and many a sinuous Southern Upland curve. Seems to have survived the last seven years surprisingly well judging by agentmancuso's photo.
