One of my least favourite pillars. Pulled off A3 very sharply into Mobile Home Park, wondering how I was going to get out safely given that it's a very small driveway that connects directly to a busy dual carriageway without any filter lane or hard shoulder. Followed track to bore hole easily enough, but no sign of trig. Bracken was head height, very thick, and interlaced with brambles. The faintest of trails could just be discerned up the hill, which was steep and felt somewhat less than solid underfoot. Vegetation meant I couldn't really see where I was stepping. Hacked and scrambled my way to the top of the ridge... no trig! Eventually found it hiding below the undergrowth a few metres along. Definitely not one to attempt in the summer, and with no views and nothing remarkable about the pillar itself, this is one of the least rewarding trigs I've bagged.

Last one of the day, park in the pay & display car park. Would normally look for alternative parking but a late in the day. Lots of paths heading in direction of the trig point but once you find the borehole compound , look for the high ground behind the compound and it's hiding in the bracken at the top.

Abandoned car in Rodborough Hill Carpark. Beware, the track to the carpark is full of potholes. Short cycle to a Thames Water compound and the headed up hillside through fully grown bracken. No views but can hear the traffic from the A3. Had problems getting back to bike as the undergrowth fought back. I lost both shoes at one point.

Pillar in good condition on small mound, cleared some fern and bramble from immediate vicinity; cap missing, asphalt plug; 1 sight hole open; vestige of white paint job remaining. In woodland so no views; A3 noise intrusive.

If you are approaching from the NW quadrant, have a GPS or excellent navigation skills as the access land is a maze of small paths.
