Log #165. Parked just off the windfarm road, just at the top of the cutting (which would later cause me a headache). Straightforward walk up to the pillar, last few metres were a little soggy with the humidity and recent rain. It's a fairly flat hilltop, so the views are good without being dramatic. The pillar is in good condition, with the indented cap still present. Rain started pelting down by the time I got back to car, and when driving down the cutting back to the road I realised that in the 60-70 minutes I'd been up there, someone had locked me in. The padlocks were on the inside, so it seemed to me that someone had gone up into the farm and locked the gate behind them. I drove around the entire windfarm looking for signs of life but gave up eventually. Parking back at the gate, I walked along to Corglass and Glenarder to try and find someone who might have a key. No luck and, soaked by this point, I walked back to Kirdillbeg on the main road. Luckily there was someone in, and the fine gentleman managed to make a few phone calls, eventually reaching one of the keepers for the estate. I was reluctantly given the combination for the padlock in exchange for my registration number and contact details (normally I would protest about handing out personal info, but I thought it was a fair ransom). After thanking the gent profusely, I trudged back along to the car in the pouring rain and took a photo to document my stupidity. I made sure to re-lock the gate tightly, and made the long drive home. Lesson learned: don't assume that an unlocked gate will stay unlocked. [ExP-137/MiP-3/Rev-2/BM-11/IS-10/Other-2]

Walked up massive wind farm track, easiest walk so far, last 40m across boggy heather. Great views to Ben Rinnes and the Cairngorms. Past a car 400m from trig, don't get excited Gerry it was a Toyota Hilux, your car won't make it!

vgc, metal cap, deep letters. By little pool at summit, just S of track. Decent view. From E, tarmac road, then cutting has been driven up hillside, in the name of wind farm access apparently.

Nice walk up, another wind farm just about complete to the West. Good views of the Moray area.

Trig with Knock hill in background Lot of water sitting on top of the hill, beautiful views though of Moray and the Spey valley.

Not so much a hill, more a wind farm observation point. Big wind farm being constructed to N/NW. No turbines yet but looks to be miles of access roads.
