So much hill furniture - a beacon, a summit marker, a donation box, a couple of memorials, and a very unusual topograph - all placed around the village green in easily accessible locations. And then there's the trig which is in the reservoir compound behind a No Unauthorised Access sign. Not sure I'd have been able to squeeze through the railings anyway, and the location was way too public for such shenanigans. Had to settle for a photo through the railings, but I think I was close enough to count it as a bag. Just. Drive to trig was enlivened by escaped sheep all wandering about at the foot of Denehurst, by the school.

The gates weren't open (I didn't check to see if they were locked or not) but there is a gap in the railings on the east side, which I managed and Shane refused after a half-hearted attempt(It's quite wide actually). Good views from this, the second highest trig in the Forest of Dean, after May Hill. Plug with heavily indented lettering.

Still in good nick and the gate is stiff but open. Quiet up here today, but the forest was busy. Spent rest of the day wandering around one of my favourite places on the planet - Dean.

The easiest English Marilyn. The highpoint is by a maypole, the trig point is just inside a fenced reservoir compound. In 1999 it was very easy to gain access to the pillar. Ruardean Hill, a village green, is after May Hill, the highest point in the Forest.
