As with the nearby S7587 Thiefgate, our visit copied the majority of logs here. We parked up on the grass next to the disguised relay tower (fascinating building by the way) and with the field empty of both crops and livestock, and the gate unlocked, the brief trespass took mere moments. The pillar is in superb condition considering where it is, with reasonable paint, full metalwork present and the Royal Volunteers plaque still attached. Views limited as the drizzly fog had descended. A good, easy trespass trig.

SITE VISIT: Approached from east. Parked on east verge, opposite gate at SE174829. Through gates following RHS of upmapped field boundary to top. Pillar in very good condition, immaculately painted in white gloss. Plaque affixed to NNW face reads "Yorkshire Volunteers 'C' Company Halifax". Spider retains original OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces ENE, ~105° along field boundary line. Southeast and northwest sight holes open. 247° open outlook spanning from northwest clockwise to SSW, remainder blocked by nearby woods. The strange building by the roadside seems to be a well disguised communications tower containing parabolic dishes.
