Spoke to farmer at Hill House Farm who was happy for me to see the trig. Found on a banked field boundary at rear of a large newish looking shed. A bit gorseified but not too bad. Need to access it from the SW side. Piillar retains an original centre cap, deeply indented lettering; LHS sight hole open, front hole below gnd level.

Asked for permission at farm, readily given, had a good chat to the farmer about farming life, sounds like hard work to me, he told me about the foot and mouth year and the day he had finished lambing to have a visit the next day from the foot and mouth team to shoot all the lambs and sheep, heartbreaking. Trig is on bank behind the farm building in between two barbed wire fences and in the midst of brambles and nettles, you can guess the rest if you want to hug it!

Think we're all meeting the same farmer - nice man guides us through the gates after a chat about the large number of different sheep and cattle breeds he has - some fine shorthorns.
