I can remember looking for this one back in the 80ies when i Live on the top floor of QEQM. I was the loudest Radio Am in Portsmouth at the time. Even though I only had 2w of power. So for old time sake I tried to find it. But its def gone. Only a bin to mark where it use to be. A lot of around here has changed since i lived here! Just wish I had some John Foxx to listen to while cycling around here.

Bike where trig should be. QEQM tower in background.

Thought we would stop and take a picture before the area changes again, as the quay is due for demolition in summer 2016 as part of the same coastal defence works that led to the destruction of TP0793 Aerodrome in July/August 2015.

OS records destroyed December 1964 - sea action at a guess from its location. It's spot is at landward end of Great Salterns Quay; concreteed over and now used as a parking area for twitchers and lovers by the seems of it.

This pillar was probably destroyed when the pier was constructed for the Gravel Dregging Company, early 1960's, possibly being redundant and in the way! The Gravel Company was relocated when the creek was reclaimed, using waste abd materials from the redevelopment of Portsmouth. The original site of the Company's dock was probably in the area now covered by Moorings Way School. On some OS Maps a trigpoint is shown on the Eastern Road/Great Salterns Campsite, which is now diused and non-operational, in the vicinity of SU 675 021
