Luckily I read the previous logs otherwise I would have never found the pillar. On the Bing map it's still in the original location, but on Trigpointinguk app it is in its present position. Bagged during an Antill "Hills & Vales" walk out of Salt. The farmer spotted me and said firmly "you're off the path." Once explaining we'd come to bag the Trig Point he softened and led us to the front door to meet his wife, sign the visitors' book and be shown to the pillar. The black Labrador is extremely friendly. Having advised Julie on autumn raspberry cultivation we took our leave to continue our walk. A very friendly encounter.

It was only after reviewing previous logs that it appears as though the lower bolt might be on the concrete block shown in others photos which previously was in the hedge behind the pillar. see photos by Glaslyn and Keith Stevens

Drove up to skeath house farm and was greeted by the friendly labrador :) Asked permission at the house and it was freely given by Julie, who showed me around the side of the house to an enclosed area of garden, but not before arming me with a notebook and pen! They've started a signature book for triggers - I was the second entry, so you'll need to knock and ask for permission if you want to get your name into this prodigious publication! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8esqyaPAuw

Similar experience to THE CYCLIST. Met the farmers father as I was going down the track to the farm, he turned round and took me on a personal tour. He lived at the farm himself until his son took over. Just like Wilf I had about half an hour with him, he's a church warden and chairman of the parish council.

Followed Trigger's instructions (thanks) but I asked at Skeath Farm. The very friendly farmer directed me round the back and over a gate to the trig and I obtained a photo of the flush bracket number. In conversation, he said he had not nicked it but had contacted the OS to see if they would part with it as it was something of an obstacle when farming. It has been on this site for at least ten years. This one completes all the pillars on map244.

OK chaps here's how to find it! It's in the garden/paddock of Skeath House Fm. Starting from the PH walk down the adjacent lane and over the stile at the end of the lane. Follow the track over the next stile and about 100m turn left over another stile. Follow the hedgerow on the right to the field gate at the corner of the Fm garden/paddock/orchard. Negotiate the gate and you'll find the pillar in a gap in the garden hedge on the left about 20m from the gate. You'll also see an FBM lying on the ground next to the pillar!

Patrolled the hedge, both sides and nothing visible other than a suspicious gap in the hedge. Took a way point and found it corresponded with the grid ref here (grid ref entered). Almost certainly a gonner. Recently reported on the trigonomy mailing list as having been dismantled and reerected in a nearby garden- Skeath Farm. Prospective visitors should ask to see it in its new location at the house. Suggest new condition category- relocated. I have upped the interest rating for this one as walking trig pillars are a novelty.
