Parked on New Lane. Climbed over a gate into a field at SJ 94474 07486. Walked north along the hedgeline (with the hedge to my right) beside the crops. At the north east corner of the field at SJ 94505 07809, I climbed up a mound into a very tall hedge and was able to peer over the top of the hedge into the Breedon Concrete Plant. The pillar is still at the same location identified by @jonglew. The pillar was moved on account of the fact that Breedon's obtained planning consent back in October 2014 to extend Saredon Quarry, to allow them to extract an additional 1.5 million tonnes of minerals.

Breedon have moved the pillar with intentions of re-instating it once the mineral has been extracted, the hole land-filled and the whole area landscaped. Their timescale is 2-3 years. In the meantime the pillar sits ungainly on its foundations ~320m W of its installation position, at SJ 94527 07889. The site foreman kindly drove me round to it. I also spoke with the guy that moved it, he said it had been thoroughly surveyed for position and elevation prior to its removal so that it can be replaced exactly where it was originally installed. There is a significant chip off one of the top edges leaving one of the spider arm ends exposed, the centre tube is sealed with a composite disc, I was unable to see the FB due to mud piled against 2 sides.

re-visit. Hadn't checked website in advance. I thought it was a short walk up an arable field previously: this has now had areas scraped clear of topsoil in places and long dumped piles of material elsewhere. As there are security cameras by the gate and machinery was in use further away I didn't attempt any entry into the area to carry out any search.

An exceptional viewpoint from such a non-prominant hill. Titterstone Clee Hill in Shropshire and the Wrekin were clearly visible. Is surrounded by wheat at the moment - third tractor track from the pylon will access it. Park on the concrete apron of a minor access road adjacent to the pylon - just short of the motorway bridge. Pass through a gap in the metal gate post and fence, turn L under the pylon and on for 50m towards the mobile phone mast. Turn R uphill - 100m

Easy access from the lane, just a hop over the fence. It stands in splendid isolation in the centre of what was an arable field with stubble left and in the process of being ploughed. Fortunately I could avoid the ploughed bits to get to the pillar! It's all intact with a plastic plug replacement. Some white paint. W sighthole closed, the others open. Concrete base exposed all round. Excellent all-round views over Cannock Chase and to Clee Hills. Shame about the phone masts and the M6/M6 Toll.
