I dressed up in my Rabies hazard suite after the information gleamed from previous logs. However I was disappointed as it was not required as some basic route finding found a path that avoids the prickly bits. Parked in lay-by. Crossed road & walked towards Broadford. Used first entrance off road to north, then over a large wide metal gate then walked downhill on a track to a near a pond of sorts. The summit track starts to the south of this pond. Job done.

I took the same route to this pillar as most others: parking in the long layby, walking to the gate, then direct route to pillar. This one really does have everything - barbed wire, heather, bog, dried grass, etc. Definitely not as straightforward as it looks on the map.
