Staying in nearby Osprey Hideways we could see this trig from our holiday cottage, so did a short 3.4 mile circuit before breakfast, to visit trig on a scorching hot day, during the heatwave. Nicely painted white, it overlooks North Third Reservoir and also across to Osprey Hideaways and is a fairly easily ascent to the trig through woodland.

A fantastic walk through woodland, made interesting with ice underfoot and some rocky bits. The trig is visible from some way back as it's been painted white. When you get to it, you can see the paint is weathering and there is no spider on the top. Great views. I had parked in a layby (avoiding parking in a passing place) near North Third Reservoir and so returned to the car by completing the circuit of the reservoir.

An absolute hidden gem of a hill and one of the very best walks in the Campsies. Great path up the hill through lovely scenic woodland and a sudden view abruptly opens up near the top of the sheer drop over the crags to the reservoir below and its various islands - the reservoir actually resembles a highland loch and this whole walk is more in character with the Trossachs than the Campsies. Speaking of which there are great views of the Trossachs and Ben Ledi, Stuc a Chroin, Ben Vorlich, Uamh Bheag and Ben Chonzie. Great enjoyment value for an easily accessable and short walk.
