Pillar was on the N side of the track, covered resr is on S side. Seems construction of the tank wouldn't have necessitated removal of the pillar, perhaps the farmer didn't like it.

(176) Parked up at the dirt road entrance, and walked the short distance to the reservoir. Some good views to be had in this area. Alas, the pillar is long gone.

Approached the reservoir up the track from the minor road to the west, then did a circuit of the perimeter fence but could find no trace of the former pillar.

(254) If it's been replaced by a buried block, then it was going to remain buried as the ground was frozen solid. GR implies on field edge rather than inside the fence boundry

Although it's missing there's a pretty good view from the escarpment - I wasn't expecting to have to drive up such a hill in Lincolnshire. I think the trig was probably just inside the field on the opposite side of the lane to the reservoir.

Not shown on my 1962 (1969 reprint) One-Inch map. On the spot where the trig used to be sits a small reservoir to serve the villages below the Wolds edge.
