The day of our visit started with glorious weather and we parked in the NT car park at Wasfell. The surface of the water was mirror like and made for some great photographs. In fact we enjoyed great views for about 2/3 of our ascent. Our route was one of the longer ones and often very difficult underfoot. That's not a complaint as we enjoyed the challenge. As we gained elevation the weather closed in with mist and rain so new views from the top on this occasion but still great to be there. The pillar is quite small and is suffering the ravages of time and weather. Kind of expected something better for Englands highest mountain.

Parked at Seathwaite and walked up to Styhead Tarn and then onto Corridor Route. Did a short detour to Lingmell for lunch and there was a grand total of two other people there. Went on over Scafell Pike and on past Esk Hause to Sprinkling Tarn. From there I ascended Seathwaite Fell, which was interesting, and scrambled back down to Stockley Bridge. Scafell Pike was too busy but the weather was tremendous and views superb. Photos to follow.
