I arrived in the vicinity of this trig by following a series of woodland paths. The last 50m or so follows a field boundary and make sure you are on the north side of the hedge! This is a fairly average trig but the views make up for it. Torbay looks quite nice from this distance!

Well I walked up the wrong side of the hedge didn't I and got sodden from thighs down. Descended through field of nonchalant cows. Views (coastal) better from S side. Nice lunch at the Drum In and the whole Cockington Estate is lovely. My 58th birthday trig.

Walked up from Warren Barn then across the field full of cows. Thankfully they left us alone while we checked out the trig pillar. Good condition, cap missing. Lovely views over Torquay.

Parked on Totnes Rd for quick sprint across rough pasture. Pigeon shoot in progress but they let me pass through after I asked nicely. Pillar sits on a large (area) plinth against a hedgerow but is clear of vegetation. Original top cap has been lost, no plug; front/left/right sight holes closed, rear not determined. Misty views N & NE only.

Nothing much to add. Thro' Scadson woods and a quick pop out into the field. The *pillar* is ok, it still has it's spider. The area around the plinth is denuded. I would (humbly) suggest that the denuded area (and the reddish colour discussed in the previous visit) is from cattle *using* the pillar. Wide views over most of Torbay, and out to sea.

This one requires a bit of a climb, but being in the Torbay area, the views are tremendous. The pillar is next to a hedge about 40ft into a field. This one appears to be made out of the local reddish limestone rather than the more usual concrete. Quite unusual in that respect. Cap is intact and pillar in good condition.
