Parked at Scobbiscombe NT Farm. Took the permissive path ,passing through 6 latch gates, then followed field hedge .could just see the top of trig this time of year, lots of vegetation.

Walk up from the Permitted Path from the NW along the field boundary or from the SW along the track. Built on the field wall next to the water tank. Good views down to the coast. Original cap. Well clear of vegetation at this time of year. Took the Patrician's advice and had a couple of very acceptable pints of Buttcombe's Original in The Dolphin in Kingston. No lunchtime food after 2pm!

Pillar up above he wetness of the field.

I photographed the trigpoint while on a circular walk from Kingston to Westcombe Beach and then back across the fields. Ending up at the Dolphin for a pint or two.

Superb walk across lush green fields, through gorgeous bluebell woods and along the coast path (great views across to Burgh Island) to find this pillar set prominently in the fields next to a flat concrete covered reservoir. Part of this walk was a fund raising exercise organised by Scobbiscombe House for cystic fibrosis where we ended up enjoying ploughman's lunches.

With the Old Man and Walking Cousin on a circular walk from Ringmore via Kingston and the Coast Path. Easy access from the permissive path and trig in vgc complete with metal cap. However, completely shrouded in mist so absolutely no views.

The pillar stands close to a covered reservoir on a hedging bank between two fields of oats on a hill close to the South Devon coast to the southwest of Modbury. A permissive path from Scobbiscombe Farm runs along the northern side of the fields. The trig was approached along the western side of the hedging bank. The pillar has FB S/3399 and a metal cap with shallow lettering and slightly raised centre. The hills of Dartmoor rise up to the north. Looking out to sea Stoke Point is in the west and Burgh Island and Bolt Tail are in the south. Rolling farmland lies to the southeast.

I think Hollowing must have gone the wrong way as we found this one quite easy to access. We parked opposite the permissive coast path just before Scobbiscombe Farm and followed the path and then a hedgeline to the trig. It's quite overgrown and next to a small reservoir/tank. Plug with indented lettering.

The nearest public access is a lane that ends at a farm enterance. This being S Devon, you'll need permission to reach the pillar. I'd imagine the views would be pretty impressive...

End of the lane.
