Second of three Munro's bagged today after walking south on the path along the valley of Allt Breabaig and climbing Sgurr nan Each first. Now heading north to Meall a' Chrasgaidh. Perfect weather again. Trig is less than half its original height and part of it lies nearby.

Broken off just above FB level; FB still intact. No sign of the rest of the pillar - down in the corrie to SE? From NNW; headed S for Sg nan Each and its 2 Corbett Tops then nice grassy descent back to the excellent path. Met Bert Barnett then Chris Watson and Andy Tomkins - MarHoF gathering this weekend and the area was crawling with Marilyn baggers:-) Quick 3h circuit Sun a.m. before the long drive S after a wonderful week in Orkney and the Far North.

My Munro #176 climbed alone. Having tested out wild camping for the first time a couple of weeks earlier bagging Beinn Dearg, this was a rather more demanding logistical proposition...drove to the car park on the A832 at 313626, where I hid my rucksack & tent, drove N to the track that leads S from the A832 at 162761 where I unloaded the bike, left the car, and cycled 30+ miles back to where I'd left the rucksack, hid the bike and set off N about 9:30pm eventually pitching camp by the banks of the Grudie NE of Aultdearg. Next morning bagged An Coileachan, Meall Gorm, Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Meall a' Chrasgaidh, Sgurr Nan Clach Geala and finally Sgurr nan Each before descending to the the bealach at 550m at the head of the Allt Breabaig and camping there before completing the remaining 2 Munros the following morning and returning to the car, and driving back S to collect the bike. An absolutely stupendous 2 days I could not recommend more highly to anyone planning to do the Fannaichs.

this visit was an utterly beautiful experience. As I stood still I noticed that not only had the crunching of my boots on the frosted snowy surface stopped but there was no wind noise, it was totally still; no birdsong; no stream sounds as they'd been muted by total snow cover; no aircraft noise ; no distant car rumble, just an absolute and stunning silence to go with the glorious suny day and white landscape. This trig is not just damaged in the usual sense but chopped in half literally. It is as though someone had taken Excalibur to it and sliced the top half off above the flush bracket. No sign of the top half on my visit though mountain was snow covered.
