Residential parking (TR 3016 3972). Footbridge across the A20, then a good track leads up to the North Downs Way. Pillar is of the Vanessa style, constructed with no flush bracket; standard tribrach, no centre cap but some sort of a plug that's partially damaged. Nice views even if the weather was pants.

Found YSM313 Shakespeare cliff. Definitely the most memorable of the trip. Both for the excitement and the fact that I am a changed woman, two barbed wire fences and a wee ditch crossed in little or no time with no fuss, Mr U2 was beside himself with awe, I think he thinks someone else turned up at the airport for this trip! Firstly we drove down to the info centre through the tunnel after waiting what seemed like an age for the lights to change. Once down at sea level we had a conversation about 'it won't be up on the cliff top will it'.... After realising it might be we consulted a guy there who gave us a few options but nothing suitable, it took some time too, during which he informed us of all the dangers and made sure were had all the information for an informed decision! We ended up parking at the CCTV cameras as darkness was coming and crossed the 2 fences and across grassland to the Vanessa pillar. Interesting channel tunnel chimney vents around the area. #10 day#1 - most memorable

I had no idea how to get to this trigpoint at all, the sat-nav was determined to take me in the opposite direction to Dover, so after filling the car with petrol in the town I headed towards London and then noticed the pull in to Samphire Hoe. Having no caches on the GPS for the UK but YOSM caches, this was the only one I could do, parked up in the carpark and walked back through the tunnel, then a 200m walk to GZ along the footpath. Trig is a concrete rounded block, no flush bracket and very close to the cliff edge, don't think it has much of a future with coastal erosion, TFTC!!!

Like previous visitors, I parked in the residential area at the other end of the footbridge and followed the path up to the cliff edge. Not the place to be if you’re unsteady on your feet or suffer from virtigo. The view north is good and you get a good view of Samphire Hoe.
