Parked at bend in road. Heavy equipment has been working in wood. Ground churned up, lots of lying water and cut down tree debris to negotiate.

Route as per Andjess. Parking not the easiest. Space couple of hundred yards along road at Shannoch farm entrance if you park carefully. Lot quicker and easier bag than I thought it would be. Pillar gorse free but bit dancing through gorse needed to get to it.

Mossy
Gorse encroaching.

The actual trigpoint was beautiful, covered in thick moss but the spider intact and cleared of moss as was the FB. Being in the midst of a plantation detracts from the wider scenery.

Found without too much difficulty; disconcertingly, there was much nearby gunfire the whole time, although I didn't meet any of the gunslingers: probably shooting at those so difficult to kill pheasants. Pillar now has a green coat of lichen but seems to be in overall good condition, complete with its original metal cap & indented lettering.

Last maintained by the OS in November 1986. SITE VISIT: Trig pillar in good condition. Spider retained OS centre cap with stamped lettering. IIRC, surrounding woods had been cut down and I had to struggle through the downtakings.
