Pedestrian approach as per jonglew, viewed location from 750m WSW, mapped on roadway bend close to large warehouse, OS say Dest 03/75, presumably when farm was overrun by dock. Cettis warbler singing en route, water rail calling, fat chance of seeing either! Cut BM on ruined barn, the other 2 en route apparently gone

With friends I walked along a foreshore footpath from Portishead to approximately ST48937729, near the sewage works. This gave views of the large warehouses that occupy the location. Strangely, the 25K OS map shows much of Royal Portbury Dock as access land but the reality is different.

Location was close to the left wall of the large warehouse, near where it meets another warehouse in the background.

From Sheepway, past Atherton House, Portbury Wharf and the sewerage plant. Was within 750m, possibly the closest it's possible to get to it on public paths.

As previous visitors, if it is still there, absolutely no way to reach it. In the dockyard somewhere behind security barriers, fencing and guards. Never mind.

A brief visit to Portishead to see a very sick friend. A quick trip here on the way home. Like previous visitors, one is not encouraged to add one's vehicle to the huge mountain of them sitting on the dockside! I did enquire at the port gates but no-one seemed to know anything about the pillar so it must have been removed completely.
