Easy to park in a nearby residential cul-de-sac and walk along the mown paths in the long common land grass. We had to avoid substantial deposits of dog toffee en-route - the locals must be short of little plastic bags.

Visited on way to appointment at Birmingham Dental Hospital. Parked at Young Offenders place. Cold, crisp day with limited views over misty midlands. Walking back to car the Mommas & Papas' 'Monday Monday' was drifting from someone's house. Very appropriate!

Parked in the road next to (although on the wrong side of the hedge) the pillar, no holes in the hedge this time of year, so walked along to the east and back along the other side all open ground looks like a dog walking area, Pillar good condition if a tad short. rubbish views.

The fields to the south of the road are accessible on tracks cut through the grass to make a walkways around the field.Take this track along the field edge, east from the youth centre to find the trig.

Did this trig whilst out with CherryBubb and attempting a very nearby cache, but without success. Approached from the main road, the B4121 where there is NO fence or hedge and access where access is completely open and NO climbing required. The Trig was only just visible due to the hedge over growing. I flattened some of the grass/hedge for the photo. N52 25.642 W001 58.650

Trig not visible from road - a small local boy insulted my bike as I cycled up to it - he said it was a 'shed on wheels'! The cheek! A bit overgrown behind the trig.

Just to correct you Garth, at some point in the areas history, the area was named Shendley. For some reason the D was dropped from the name and its now known as Shenley.

Right on the edge of a jealously-guarded bit of public open space adjacent to Shenley Court Comprehensive School. Central plug missing but has plastic insert, otherwise intact. Extensive views over the city of Birmingham which, on a lovely crisp day like today, looks remarkably pleasant! No views westwards, however.
