(1053) Pillar situated at the rear of the yard for stage set manufacturer 'Rock Constructions'. Dealing more with corporate gigs now, the list of bands (The Clash, The Pretenders, Dire Straits, Public Image Ltd, Meat Loaf, Wham! and on and on...) they have worked with in previous years is pretty impressive. Wish I'd know prior, I could have asked them about some of those! Anyways, I introduced myself, and asked whether it would be possible to view the pillar. This was initially met with blank looks, until someone distantly recalled the object in question. The head guy was called for and we all made our way to the rear of the yard. To call that section overgrown is the understatement of the century. Stood less than 5 metres away from the pillar, and not a hint of it could be seen - totally swallowed up by the thick, over head height, brambles and greenery. The lad's then set about clearing and cutting a path to the pillar for me. The final dense patch was flattened down by using large wooden boards to jump up and down on. And there she was - all good, with everything readable/visible. So a big thank you to the staff at Rock Constructions for being so accommodating, not to mention the considerable amount of growth they had to clear as well. Cheers, guys!

All intact. In very back corner of yard beyond waste timber pile. Bagging assistant fell in a pile of nettles whilst trying to avoid slipping into adjacent ditch - not happy after this one!

Owner welcomed some vegetation clearance with loppers. So now there is a path thru' to the trig but the brambles were vicious and prolific and will soon regrow.

Asked in reception, apparently the owner, who fetched a factory employee who knew where it was. He trampled a path through waist high nettles and brambles in his jeans and work boots, while I gingerly followed in cycle shorts. Wouldn't have been found otherwise. In very corner of site.

Located in the grounds of a small manufacturing company at the rear of the premises. Area very heavily overgrown with nettles (some about 6ft tall!) and brambles making access very difficult. Owner doesn't seem too fussed about visitors.
