re-visit. An earlier start than usual, normal local lanes at first, then as a Sunday, rarely used main road into Coventry. There in time for the pre 11am Gregg's breakfast baguette and coffee. Followed signed cycle route out of city to Baggington and back into the lanes which I haven't ridden in years. Pillar short way down private road. Pillar in good condition with original plug. The "B&B" has now been deleted from the attached property sign.

Visited the original site of the pillar, using DGPS to get the location to within 2 or 3 metres. Absolutely no trace of foundation. Pleasant views. Admittedly without permission, but farmer busy wrangling huge machine along muddy track nearby and didn't seem bothered by my presence.

So as not to annoy the locals, I took the alternative, and very pleasant, approach of walking along the former railway line, and looked down on the trig in its new position. Accessed from the bridge 400m to the SE, path up from NE side of bridge, NW side of road. Nice rivet SW side of bridge, NW side of road.

I tried to find it at its original site (as marked on recent OS map) a couple of years ago. Now having started using this website, I've spotted its discovery at its new location. No problem locating and cycling up private road to view. I would prefer it to be in situ, but its new use looks good and is preferable to total destruction.

There are quite a few "private road" signs scattered about which look rather imposing but no signs of life fortunately. The trig doesn't half look stupid you know. The poor sod has a ridiculous B&B sign stuck on - how dare they!

Well found Father Ted. We parked on the road and walked up the drive and under the railway bridge etc as we thought this the polite thing to do. I photographed Shane next to the pillar and noticed that the old lady from the B & B was in her front garden. What a miserable old trout she turned out to be - saying we should have asked permission before going up the 'private road' at all (I can't quite figure out how you'd do that). Anyway, I advise any future baggers just to visit the trig and not get into conversation with the natives - we certainly won't be staying there for B & B! Plug with indented lettering.

I found this one mainly though luck with a little intuition thrown in. Finding a parking spot proved a little tricky and I ended up pulling in on the minor road near Snowford bridge. I then took the path north west on top of the old railway line. Having read that fasgadh believed the trig was missing I kept my eyes peeled and then low and behold as I was passing the farmhouse on the left I spotted her. She has been moved from the hill down to Snowford Farm to act as a feature and signpost for the Coach House bed and breakfast. My GPS was giving her new location as SP 38720 66529.
