As I'd been walking in the area with my group it was a good opportunity to properly visit this pillar, something I didn't do 13 year ago. I too parked by the entrance to the farm south-west of the pillar then walked east of the pillar to find a stout fence post for climbing over the barbed wire. The pillar is cracked at the FB level but is otherwise in good condition and looked nice in the low golden sunshine.
