3rd and final trig of the day. I approached from the North, along a long and tedious track (part of the Limestone Way). It brought me out on Priestcliffe Road, I crossed the A6 next to the "The Waterloo" and found a PRoW which meandered up to the summit where I found some kind of observation post and the Pillar which is in a fenced off field. It had been a long day and I wasn't going to be denied, so I jumped the fence and got my selfie. I also left a painted rock that I'd found at Wormhill, on the top of the trig. Hopefully the next visitor will move it on to another?

Frosty walk up from Taddington. Down the PROW. Watch out for the large dogs that run out and jump at you as you pass down the side of the houses. Short but slippery walk up to the trig. Just the other side of the aerial enclosure. Trig in very good condition.

Ten trigs bagged on the way to and around Buxton with a total of thirteen miles hiked for the day. This was the sixth of the day. Parked near junction of School Lane and Slipperlow Lne for short walk along PROW to the pillar. It appears to be in good condition and retains the original centre for the spider. Good views.

re-visit. through Monyash and up a road known as The Jarnett, then left, and right on to a gravelly by-way which is also the Limestone Way. Lovely ridge walk through fields to pillar with stone step-stiles over dry stone walls.

Cycled over to Millers Dale to collect the 1st of 6 controls for Derbyshire in the British Cycling Quest. Walked up to this trig pillar from The Waterloo on the A6. A very grand trig and the name Sough Top is more related to the lead mine workings on Taddington Moor than a moaning or whistling sound. A sough is an underground channel for draining water out of a mine. The cafe at Millers Dale station is gifted todays trig. After hearing cafes were to close, I found to my delight (and too many others) that they can still offer a takeaway service using disposable cups etc. Life still goes on folks.

Pleasant day shame about the soppy light, few grey clouds scud over the top which adds atmosphere to the sound of many skylarks - paths horribly muddy but nice up here

First of 7 trigs, the most I've bagged in a day. Had planned on 5, then decided on more and ended up having to hitch back to the car to avoid the dark. Parked in Taddington, an attractive village not too 'commuterised', and an easy walk to the trig. Views limited by some fog, will have to come back to check. Drive to Earl Sterndale and High Wheeldon trig.

Quick stop off in Taddington on way home from lovely walk taking in the Wye Valley, Ashford and Monsal Head. Beautiful sunny, breezy evening, great views, but marks deducted for the reservoir and masts, and the very pungent aroma of muck spreading! Metal cap, shallow letters, W s/hole open, otherwise exc cond.

parked at hurdlow,ticket machine took my £4.50 and didn't issue a ticket!!decided to park in nearby Flagg,the wind howling around!great walk to the pillar,simple access through open gate next to the mast into the trig field,in fact there are gates from both directions so no problems.lovely panoramic views,the heavens opened on leaving the pillar,typical.revisited 23/5/20 walked from chelmorton,first pillar since lockdown began in march

Pleasant enough. Up the Limstone Trail by the pub. (Beware! Limestone plus rain equals slip!) Worrying left turn that appeared not to be heading for the radio mast as expected. Fear not. The mast on the top comes into view once you have passed the one at Moor Grange.

Had intended to walk over from Millers Dale but being a Bank Holiday my usual parking spot was full. Ended up driving through Millers Dale and parking in a layby on the A515 just down hill from The Waterloo pub (SK132714). Followed Limestone Way up hill to a junction of paths (SK127707) where I was confronted by a few cows camped in the corner of the field right across the PROW. Thankfully they just ignored me. Followed path roughly East to reservoir where a gate allowed easy access into the field and trig pillar. Pillar in good condition with original metal cap. Continued along path down into Taddington, through churchyard and across A6. Took path past Rock Lodge Farm before emerging onto a lane near Lydgate Farm. Easy route across fields (stiles marked with yellow paint) led to Millers Dale nature reserve. Finally through Millers Dale and back to The Waterloo via Long Lane.

Walking nearby on the Limestone Way with my walking group, The Irregulars, LDWA so this was an ideal opportunity to detour slightly to visit this trig. Came along field edge path will melch and then just climbed a couple of gates to reach the pillar. Everything in good order. Unable to take any photos as my camera had been left on a pub floor and still has to be collected! Reasonable views somewhat marred by the nearby mast.

The highest point of the day's walk, and the fourth pillar. Some nice views from near the trig, although it was very exposed and quite cold when I visited. The locality 'spoilt' by a covered reservoir and some ariels.

Slight detour to get this one whilst on 11 mile walk around Chelmorton and Flagg. A bit foggy on the top by the reservoir so limited views. The photographs were addded on a return visit on August 20th 2016 nearly 13 years later!

Very hot day, no views to be had as it was all inverted. Couple of the holes on the bottom had been concreted up.
