Sprockenometry My dog, Sprocket, loved this end of day local Trig bag, as you can see. Many more to come :-)

Pillar at the summit of a grassy field, enjoying an expansive view albeit not an especially interesting one. An easy bag from the road beside the reservoir.

Hardest part of getting here was finding the lane, partly I think my radar was switched off but also seemed to be missing road signs at numerous junctions. Approached from the west, (first) left after passing the reservoir then right and uphill along narrow lane. After about 500 metres road levels, pulled in by gate on north side of road by gate into field and pillar visible from there on top of hill, grassy field, straightforward access (in the end). Spider and cap in place. Good all round views although a little hazy at the time. Probably some significance to the FB number as lower than others in the area.

A rather prominent trigpoint in the centre of a hilly field with impressive views to the reservoir in the north and the urban expanses in the south. This is probably one of the better trigpoint views I've encountered in Essex.

Camping near Billericay for the week's UK Mega, and first on the itinerary was a 16 mile linear walk partly around the Hanningfield reservoir. This trig point was only a short detour of our route, and we luckily found paths through the oil seed rape crop for access. Good condition, and good countryside views.

My first log in the county of Essex and my first this year ! Came up here for the afternoon on other business and intended to bag at least 4 trigs while killing time. Spent a lot of time looking round Hanningfield Reservoir visitor centre and only achieved 1 log. Approached via Warren Road and walked 150m along field edge and up tractor tracks thus avoiding crops - no crops were harmed during this exercise. Pillar is in good order with good 360 degree view of rural Essex. Let's hope the farmer maintains his careful driving record.

Made some amateur radio transmissions using portable antenna and handheld radio into Great Notley and Ipswich , a nice location for radio operating (Callsign M3 ZTW- see QRZ.COM) - visit cut short by incoming rain at this rather pleasant but exposed location. On a clear day nice views of Hanningfield reservoir to the North , River Crouch to the East and Rayleigh to the South. The pillar itself is all present and correct and being my first trig I hope all others will be just as good. Ordnance Survey website details 1946 as the computing year and a height of 78.955 metres (259.039 feet).
