Memorable for how windy it was on top; my glasses were blown off my face. Fortunately I had one decent long sighted eye to see the view down the length of Loch Harport.

First trig on Skye, horrid weather and all the more moody for it. Escaped Tallisker distillery shortly after for the beautiful Tallisker Bay - some miles away.

walked directly up the hill from the minor road junction to find the trig in good condition with two smooth and two pebbly sides, it has an original cap and two open sight holes-and excellent views of the Cullins , Tables and the Loch

a delicious trig position on hillside above Tallisker distillery, Carbost with views NW to McLeods tables and as SE to the Cuillin. glorious. beautiful also by having two sides pebble dashed and two sides smooth with patches of yellow lichen. Bright but very windy. Shame my favorite type of raised letters plug is one of the ones with sloppy casting and half the letters feint as only half the depth they should be

Waited at the layby for at least 30 minutes a storm blew in never seen as much rain and wind so sadly i drove off by the time i reached sligachan it had cleared again ah well you can't win em all!

Grass verge parking with a short but very marshy walk up. Very windy at the top but a fantastic view to make up for it.

Easy trig with fantastic views of the Cuillin Hills. Parked up on the road to the SE and took a direct route along reasonable paths straight to the summit. Classic Skye trig. Not sure there is a bad one on this fantastic island!

HISTORY: Pillar completed 20th August 1957 costing £30.6s.8½d. Levelled for height in 1959. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NG24/T78 in 1958. Last maintained by the OS in April 1978. SITE VISIT: Approached from southeast. Parked by west side of road junction at NG372310. Lightly worn path from roadside to trig follows a near straight line. Cnoc nan Speireag is an open grazing top. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces NNE ~27°. Vented through SE and SW sight holes. Full 360° panoramic view.

No views of note today, low cloud covering all the peaks. Nice easy route up following the burn and sheep tracks from the junction of road below. Then down to Carbost and the distillery!
