vgc, asphalt plug, 36 on small plaque on side of pillar, damp pasture, fine view of City & Peak. Uploading Jon's montage 2 years later, seeing Keith in the pic, I am reminded we bagged this after returning from Jo'burg, while waiting for Keith's luggage to arrive on the next plane !

Lovely views. Despite having a concrete plug, the trigpoint is very well preserved. If you look through the holes at the bottom, you can clearly see the top of the reference bolt. Also spotted the diamond shaped "36" attachment Jayne commented on below. Is that just coincidence, or is it a reference to the 1936 retriangulation?

Great views from up here, did the local cache at the same time. The middle of the spider had been "tarmaced" over, and there was a diamond shaped steel plate stuck to the north face about 1" to each side with the number 36 repeated twice on it. - Anyone know what this is? Didn't have the camera with me shame 'coz it would have made an interesting picture.
