Final hill (of 28) and trig (of 9) on the Island of Bute. And the best left to last. A fine, if short at 5k, ridge walk ended at this trig with outstanding panoramic views for almost all of the walk. The pillar retains an original top cap with raised lettering; LHS sight hole open. Sat and watched an incoming rain storm approach from the W, fascinating stuff! Steep grassy descent to car parking at end of the road.

Good condition pillar on a precipitously steep little hill at the south end of the island! FB faces south-east-ish with south-west-ish sighthole open only. Cap present with raised lettering. Excellent views to Cumbrae, Arran etc. Saw a line of tall ships making their way up the firth.

Fantastic views from the top of this great wee hill. Left the rest of the Quadbarrel clan in the car at the car park for St. Blane's Church and pretty much ran up the hill. Well I did until it became nearly vertical.....

Spotted this T/P as I walked down the track from St Blanes Church. It would have been churlish not to have paid it a visit. Took the direct route straight up the hill. It's quite steep close to the top. The T/P is in very good condition with all its metalwork in place. The views were very good even if it was a bit hazy in the distance. Well worth the climb.
