Stormy weather episode 2. Staying at a lovely cottage just down the lane in yet never done this hill - why why! A glorious spot especially when getting blown up the hill. Pennine Way then over to Green Humbleton. Strange how different it feels not having traipsed all the way from the Schil etc.

Nice bimble up from Hayhope, easy navigation to the trig and decent views. Rather gusty up top and rain threatening so we didn't longer long. Went back along the ridge and down the other side of the hill, returning to Kirk Yetholm via the Pennine Way.

Intended to bag this as I was finishing the Pennine Way in 2011. Alas, a pint at the Border Hotel was a more pressing concern on the day. However, it remained on the todo list and I finally ascended the hill today. Parked in the entrance to the transmitter to the NE. Excellent viewpoint with extensive views of the Cheviots and Borders.

Using a passing place on the minor road to the east as a car park followed the fence lines to the open pasture and up to the pillar. Great 360 views.

St Cuthbert's Way #4: detour up from Hayhope, down to Pennine Way. Overcast but stunning views, great to see our entire route from the Eildons laid out before us, and subsequently retired to the Border Hotel to celebrate our half way point. Trig is gleeming white; S and W s/holes open, concrete (? - painted over) plug but otherwise vgc.

Easilly accessible from Pennine Way through a gate at NT835279. Once at intermittent hegde/fence corner (834275) a good path leads all the way to the trig. probably best to return the same way to avoid tricky wall climbing and/or gorse.
