The gate is almost totally overgrown with Hawthorn now and the grass verge was a sea of Nettles. Never one to give up though I forced my way through practically on hands and knees (got stung, prickled and scratched in the process)and then tripped over the sprawling brambles in the field. Graeme (in his shorts) wasnt brave enough so he stayed on the road side and peered at it through the hedge. When I reached it I realised I had forgotten the GPS so Graeme had to throw it over the very high hedge to me, unfortunately his aim was off and it almost landed on top of the pillar. It didnt come to any harm though and registered a reading only 1m out, lol. I managed to avoid the brambles on the way back and only got a dozen or three more stings and scratches forcing my way back through the gate and hedge. On this high note we set off for home, and only once did I wonder why the hell we do this :)
