Perhaps it's lurking beneath the tarmac or hardcore, perhaps a metal detector would be useful for these cases (often thought it would make life easier searching for surface blocks) but would it detect the bolts? Are they steel or a bronze amalgam? - Questions, questions - time for a lie down.

Agreed - looks to of been lost when the new drive was made - posssibly underneath tarmac, more likely dug up and gone.

As with the other visitors, this wasn't possible to find and I suspect it was removed when the new farmtrack was built. With the fence missing it wasn't possible to pinpoint a location, even with the OS sketch and, unusually, the OS photo doesn't show where the Bernsten actually IS! I did try scraping away at the new hardcore for a bit but didn't find anything.

Lots of development here. The fence is gone and a new track buldosed up to the farm with compressed stone in the area of the berntsen. Most of the measure markers are gone so a metal detector may be needed for the final decision.

Easy to find as recently uncovered and the grass was short. Good to see the red soil, this is Holy Ground, fair brings tears to an exiled Herefordian. Along with the hair of the cattle, this is easily my favourite colour.
