Pulled over on north side of road at start of footpath opposite lane to south. Headed north across grassy field. Looked fairly flat but a gradual climb towards wooded area. Continued north to where trees funnel and then headed west into the woods. Very wet ground and no obvious route through the woods. Checked detailed map but not much gained except I needed to head more towards the west. Slightly higher and dryer ground, bit of a hunt. Pillar in woodland, no views. Spider and cap in place. More direct route south out of woods to top of field, easier. There is the possible remains of a track from pillar heading south but only vague clues.

Scenery at trig location average as located in middle of woodland. However, enjoyable walk to trig. Being a beautiful, sunny, spring day helped. P.s Hi Linda, I expect you have a new lodger :-)

Spotted this trigpoint as a complete surprise as a friend and I were geocaching in the area. TP in good condition within this relatively sparsely-tree-populated area hardly worth being called a forest!

Our first trig for the New Year ! Parked in Forest car park.A pleasant walk on a sunny day following the forest tracks. Trig easily spotted this time of year.

Made a short detour from the Herepath. Last 50m through the trees, but trig hidden from path, so had to rely on a bearing. Lots of moss and lichen on trig, presumably as it's only ever visited by trig baggers. No views, but a nice secluded location.

Difficult to find from muddy access path obscured by tree trunks brambles and dead fern and that is in December. Though when near it there is a good amount of clear ground on at least 3 sides. Condition looks good , even has plug in place in spider on top. BTW GB Marilyn 300.

Located at the summit of Somerset's Blackdown Hills, the trig is found in a wood with no easy access, but not too difficult to find. We parked at the Castle Neroche car park and walked east through Staple Wood plantation to the trig and then returned via Staple Fitzpaine. Camping at Tanpits Farm (also a cider producer, glug, glug), at Bathpool on outskirts of Taunton, taking our new tent for it's first outing. We would recommend the site.

Found trig straight away on west bearing from above field gate. Parked at unfinished car park to south east of Staple Hill.

Well, as you can see the trig has an Orange paint ring around it - I hope this means NOT to fell !! Now stuck in the middle of a forest. Just follow the track from the road (where there was a 50s couple "doing it" in their 4x4 !!), through the clearing and into the next wood. Just before the track widenens out into a circle, there is a vehicle track on the right, the trig is right along there.

I nearly recorded the TP as "slightly damaged" since the woodland contractor has seen fit to highlight the TP by spray painting an orange line around near the top of the sides.

This was tricky to find even with a GPS and the family helping! It made for a great break from motorway driving to Brixham for Easter. My wife kicked something near the trig and then on close inspection found it to be a geocache but it is not registered on the geocaching web site - can anyone help solve this mistry? Here's me spending ages looking for them and she finds one by accident!

A lonely trig sat deep enough into the woods so as not to be seen from the path. Approaching from the W, turn right into the woods just before the "green layby" on the crest in the bridleway. It's about 40m in.
