If there's a surface block here then it's not been found previously and wasn't found today despite carrying out a good prodding of the ground.

Driven past here on the M3 on a weekly basis thinking it was a good place for a trig but seeing none on the map; now I know why (replaced by a buried block April 1959 so long gone). Visit to a gallery in Chobham followed by a walk from the adjacent car park, to Burrowhill, Longcross, the railway line and a monument to Queen Victoria reviewing 8,000 troops which must have been some sight. Nice place, especially if you like a view of the adjacent M3. Good place to park and wander over the rest of the common. Not so good if you want to actually see a pillar. Me. 74m

I was in the area, attending an orienteering event on Chobham Common today. If it was still there I would have seen it.

Presumably replaced by the nearby surface block. The hole at the centre of the depression is about pillar-sized.

Found exact GPS location, only a few feet from Aux0 - Definitely missing, there is a hollow in the ground at this point, possibly where the trig was dug out?

I think this is not a pillar but a ground station as I found a piece of decaying concrete, about 20 cm sq, partly painted white with a round and a square metal stud in it. I could read no number. The location is possibly that of the fabled Chobham Treacle mines ( google it for the story!) Though I myself feel they were furthwer to the south and west by about 1/2 a mile!
