Plenty of nearby superstore parking. Walked back down Old Leeds Rd, then Woodhall Avenue to Gain lane. At this junction is option to investigate the E side of the premises. Walked W down Gain Lane observing the factory that now occupies the site. A small contour line on my OS gives a guess as to the original site, but short of a faceman style blag into the premises or sending Hovis my CV I'm happy to take other TUK members word that it has gone.

Nothing to see here now as the TP was removed many years ago when the bakery was extended. This site is currently used as the Hovis Bakery

Probably a good view across to the pillar at Woodhall Hill before the factory was built, I'm definitely not trespassing around Hovis factory loading bays looking for a trig that's no longer there !

Log #85. (190m). By car. I spend more time on these DEAD trigs than I do on LIVE ones! Looks like this one was lost when the Hovis Bakery expanded their very large factory here some years ago. The truck loading area at the rear of the bakery has been excavated for the expansion. Where I stood to take the photo (outside the perimeter fence), was about level with the top of the trailer. Yet another trespass thru a barbed fence is required to get here

Sunny Bank Trig The Pillar. If you look at the second light in from the R, about C of shot and just under the loading bay canopy, the pillar would have been sited in front of the light at about the level of the roof of the trailer.

Gone to TGTMITS, bas***ds! Made an effort even though I knew it wasnt there - a sad case of Trigonontrism (the psychiatric act of feeling the need to visit the site of a triangulation station - particularly a pillar - knowing that it no longer exists). On a round of the mops ups in West Yorkshire that no longer exist. Its a bit sad that the 300th UK & IOM trig Ive (not) tigged no longer exists. As an addendum- Im at a loss to know how Peteboggs could drive past and log it!!

As previous visitors I searched around the back in the corner to the north of the bakery and west of The Dales BUPA nursing home and found nothing. There is a slightly raised bit of land which tallies with a contour line on the OS map just a few yards NW of the wall/fence corner. Perhaps this was the place??

I reckon this is missing. We went round the back of the hovis bakery, but the GPSr pointed into the lorry park and delivery bay. Nothing to be seen whatsoever. I also note that it was supposed to be a pillar but isn't shown on the OS maps.

This one has been toasted. The rear of the bakery premises is a parking area - nowhere for a trig to hide. Behind that is an empty field. According to the OS list, this was S4199 which indicates a probable construction date of the late 1940s; I've checked maps from the present back to 1964 (OS 1" series) but can't find any reference to it. Bradford's industrial museum is nearby and worth a visit. Missed P & T's visit by a few hours.
