Sure many of our friends think we trig baggers are barking, anyway. This visit would utterly confirm it. My visit, in the dark, was prompted by fact that the number 2712 on the bronze flush bracket happens to represent, at least in my geeky brain, the 60th birthday year of Marilyn inventor Alan Dawson, so being an eccentric arty nerd I thought I might try and make a ceramic cast of this flush bracket as a bizarre present!! Hence me and my son Jamie were hunting for this trig in the dark near to the side of the road, (it's about 40 metres north of the road amongst scattered gorse bushes) and then taking a bag of blue powdered moulding alginate and water and a plastic tub and trying smearing this gel mixture with my hands onto the metal to try and take a mould from it. It was cold about 3-4 degrees and mixture was too sloppy and not helped by me spaying some WD40 on it as I thought it may help as a mould release to stop it sticking. Of course because of this, initially it wouldn't adhere at all. What a nightmare of nuttiness. But as the blue mixture started to gel & solidify I did manage to get enough to adhere to enable me to hope that a cast could in fact be taken. I left it for five mins while I returned to the car to get a pen knife to cut round the edges and managed to gingerly peel it off. I cleaned up the edges round the flush bracket a bit, but with apologies to future visitors for the bits of blue plasticky stuff still there. Also interesting to note that the original brass flush bracket cast of the numbers was clearly slightly wonky when it was made as the final 2 is a bit lopsided. Makes it extra unique though.

Flush bracket ceramic cast sculpture This sculpture celebrates the sixtieth birthday 2nd July 2012 of Alan Dawson inventor of the \'Marilyns\' hill list in the book the \'Relative Hills of Britain\', AKA Blanco in the scottish mountain fanzine Thee Angry Corrie. This is a ceramic cast taken from a mould made from the actual flush bracket of trig pillar \'Sway\' in Hampshire by Charles and Jamie Everett in darkness!! on the evening of Mon13th Feb 2012 and now framed in a waxed open oak frame designed to represent the rock strata of the mountain environment, a nice ironic total contrast to the flatland non hill summit site of this particular trig pillar!©vegibagger
