Circular walk from car park about a mile west of Kingston village. West along road for almost a mile then turned south east at gate. After four hundred metres, another gate, pillar a few metres further on. Pillar just below tumulus from which better views are gained. At the time, a bit hazy so no distant views. Could see Kimmeridge and St Alban’s Head. Apparently France is visible from here on a (completely) clear day, the most westerly point of the coast from which it is. That’s probably about 75 or 80 miles away. Not sure that would be possible. Spider and cap in place.

After a rather restless night camping (screaming children in nearby tent), Craig and I drove closer to this warm-up trig to wake us up. Located right next to a known viewpoint, from which you could see for miles east and west along the Dorset coastline, including the point of our previous days trig at St Albans Head. There is a nearby mound on which we sat and took a few scenery pictures.

Another lovely walk and wonderful views on my second sunny afternoon in Poole. Midday heat tempered by the refreshing breeze - I bet it's bracing in winter! Met lots of sheep in the first field, and a herd of black cows hogging the entire path in the second. Visited this trig while doing the Swyre Head geocache, and then set off to complete the Purbeck Triple next.

Parked at Kingston not realising there was a car park at the end of the lane. Never mind - a nice stroll up this Marilyn though some sea mist meant the views were not great.
