Parked just west of quarry (NX 8287 7049). Diagionally across pasture to slightly akward wall at corner of the field, over that for the Tan Hill summit and trig. Pillar sits on a low plinth at W side of a comms compound; majority of the top screed is missing leaving 2 of the spider arm ends exposed. Residue of a mortar plug for the centre tube retained; front and rear sight holes open. Good views W. There's a survey (non-OS) rivet on the pillar's base, unknown purpose, but possibly connected to the comms compound/mast.
