Pleasant walk up to the pillar. It is located just inside the woods near to the field barrier/fence. Quite good views to the north from here.

Wander up before my presentation session at guy hilton. Lovely sunny morning with bluebells in the woods above, absolutely wonderful views. trig a mossy but adds to the character.

Parked on Paris Avenue. Walked onto Gallowstree Lane and then took the path from that road up to woods in which the pillar is located. Found the pillar to be very moss ridden, and the flush bracket side is right up against a fence. However, with a bit of dexterity, I managed to get some photos of the flush bracket as well as the rest of the pillar.

It was my 3rd ever trig so it was a big moment in my career of trig pointing. As I got to the summit of the hill I was looking for a good 5 minutes for it, then just before I lost all hope of ever finding it , I saw it situated in the trees what had over grown around it. The poor thing has been left to rot with mould all over it, the views from it are great. I couldn’t stay long though it was getting too me to much on how its been left covered in vegetation. Worth a visit people to see this once proud spetical

A dreary day but it does not take away from being in my own old backyard - literally nearly, in the grey murk it's a townscape dominated by church spires, kind of romantic. 2nd trig of the day, treecreeper, buzzard, crows and great tits. High Lane oatcakes for lunch.

I first logged this trigpoint in 2003. I have just moved in less than 1/2 a mile away so thought I would have a wander over and find it again as My last log was May 2009 .. Met a nice couple near the trig who also use this site (it's a small world)... I really need to get out and find some more :)

Parked on grass verge on B road to east - very busy early evening. Easy access into field, then thru' fence to north and trig just inside wood on fenceline.

Parked in Paris Avenue and walked back to footpath which leads to the pillar. Walked past this one as it is tucked away on the right off the path. Very moss-covered and the flush bracket faces into the field. Average views.

Trig on hill just above where I live ....Line of sight to next Trig points at Seabridge and Black Bank now obscured by trees but area around the trig called "The Butts" contains newly planted trees and walks.

2/5 - Easy trig, with a walk on what appears to be an informal park. The trig is right on the edge of this area, under a tree and certainly not on the top of the hill. It has not been looked after very well. Not bad views.

This was quite a surreal experience. Parked on the edge of the housing estate and then had quite a hunt to find the pillar which I managed by a spot of good luck! Arrived there at exactly 11.00 on Armistice Day - and the view afforded me an opportunity to watch a good number of people and vehicles [including a Council dustbin lorry] - come to a halt for two minutes and then move on. The lorry driver and his mate even got out of their lorry to stand to attention. This makes me very much aware that the British spirit is alive and well! The pillar is very heavily encrusted with moss and is hard by a barbed wire fence on the edge of public open-space. Ashphalt plug relpacement. No paint. N sighthole open, others closed. Easy access. Good views to the N over Stoke. An interesting experience.

The easiest option is a stright line from the main road but as it was school run time I went into the estate and walked up and though the wood instead. Makes for a nice easy stroll and worth the extra effort. trig condition itself unchanged.

In a hedge on the boundary of what is now a park. Not too overgrown but very mossy. I had expected it to be a stealth job in the wood, but it is not too hard to find and access is uncontested. Plug replaced by concrete.
