I think that this pillar has been removed by the landowner. I have visited it in 2012 and others have been a few weeks ago but there is a suspicious hole where it should have been.

Access of Devil's Lane through the small wood. there is a trodden path that takes you into the middle top half of the wood. Odd brickwork chimney still standing - remains of small building maybe. seemed weird! Continued to the end of the wood and climbed the fence where the TV aerials are. up across the field to the pillar. All metal intact. view across to Harracles Hall - quite a splendid brick building. Back the same way to overcome the fence, but used the edge of the field against the SE face of the wood to get back to the road.

The second trigpoint on a route taken from “Peak District Trigpointing Walks”. Walked up from the corner of the wood and over one barbed wire fence. Lots of sheep with new born lambs. Mist still limiting the views on an otherwise great spring day. Continued onto Hilly Field.
