Visited on a superb big walk from Hayfield taking in Kinder Downfall, the true summit of Kinder Scout, Kinder Low and Swine Back. We took a short deviation from the masses heading along the main footpath heading east towards Kinder, and nipped up following the fenceline. The pillar is stunning, sitting atop a couple of feet of plinth (or possibly exposed stone foundation). The previous pillar (presumably collapsed into the peat) was left in-situ, so you get the extremely unusual sight of a fallen pillar beneath the replacement. As others have mentioned, I can't see why the original doesn't have its own log, unless they took the flush bracket and reused it? The newer pillar is in fine condition; views superb to the north and east.

It is in generally good condition but looks exposed on a plinth and the original spider centre has been replaced. I suspect this might not be the original pillar as there's another laid on it's side alongside.

I like this one, with the 'dead' one lying by it's side. I'd say that, since the original was errected, about 6 foot of peat has been eroded away, that's about 1 inch per year!

Walked from Kinder Low to The Edge and left Rosy at the downfall to rest with the ravens and very pushy sandwich sheep. Painted white and set on very eroded foundations. There's a dead trig at the foot of this one. Views not so good as the peat has eroded away and I'm not tall enough to see above it. Plug replaced with plastic insert.

Does this count as 2 bags or just 1 because of the old collapsed trig. There is an S on the flush bracket inbetween the BM. This was a quite hard trig to find close up to it but it is very visable from Kinder Low. If you are looking for it and don't have a GPS go over the fence and you will soon see it.
