Log #215. Parked behind Iceland and popped up to the pillar. Didn't think it was worth changing into boots, so had a bit of a slidey job getting up the slippery slope in well-worn trainers! Cap is long gone, and looks to have been plugged which has been chipped/worn away. Some other assorted damage to the pillar, but nothing to serious. Empty fireworks tubes on ground next to pillar. Urban survivor on a knoll behind a church and small street of shops. Pillar in generally reasonable condition given its location. The top has two corners that are knocked off, but otherwise good. The top is also suffering with erosion/vandalism with sides of the spider becoming visible. Cap is missing and the hole is filled with "horrible stuff". All sightholes closed except NW(-ish). FB faces SE(-ish). Very easy to get to. Surprisingly awesome views to the north! East Kilbride is a bit grim on the southern aspect. No real urban detritus around the pillar except a lone special brew empty. The pillar is graffiti'd.

Urban survivor, behind a church and a Costcutter. A bit battered, plenty of grafitti. On a prominant knoll, with good views of the Highlands and not such good views of East Kilbride. Looking at an old map, the mound is named "The Mound" and is shown as a tumulus, and there was a Lickprivet Castle nearby. This being deepest rural Lanarkshire. Its changed!

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 12th December 1945 costing 7.14s.6d. In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NS77/T57 in the Glasgow secondary block. Was refixed as same in 1985. The flush bracket was last levelled for height in 1981. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in November 1981. Many of the trigs in Secondary Block NS77 which have been built around have disappeared. S3595 has got off with just the general wear and tear that would be expected in a public open space. Spider has been plugged with tar but this is now broken open. BsM flush bracket.
