Walked from boat tied above Claydon locks. Pleasant couple of hours in quiet countryside. Up through sheep fields to pillar now hidden in nettles. Fine views over rolling Oxfordshire landscape.

Bagged with CherryBubb. Short walk up from the footpath between the houses in Farnborough. Slightly off piste, but no real issues to get to. Out of sight of any house windows and no fences to climb. Surprisingly goodish views from such a low elevation.

Pleasant walk up from the village. Extra interest point for the grave next to the pillar. A ring of nettles made the last few feet a little tricky in shorts, but found a pathway through them.

From Farnborough village. Amongst trees on earthworks with shallow ditch and ring mound. Sheep pasture.

Easy access from road. Adjacent to trig is grave of Richard Nichols 27/04/1927- 05/05/2016. Fine setting. Trig in excellent condition. My fiftieth trig.

Narrow RoW between houses starting SP 4344 4980, opens out into a sheep pasture. Pillar sits on a small mound with a farmer's final resting place adjacent. Original centre cap retained, deeply indented lettering; RHS sight hole open. Good views.

Walked in from the SW.My new Explorer does not mark the farm whose drive is next to the footpath.There was a very lively Bullock in the field with the pillar that kept me on my toes !

Easy access, just off a public footpath out of Farnborough village. On the edge of a sheep pasture near a fence and sheltered by a large ash tree. Original plug - deeply indented letters. Traces of paint. E sighthole open, others closed. Concrete base exposed about 3" all round. Lovely views through the trees over S. Warwickshire.

A pleasant walk up along a footpath from the picturesque village of Farnborough brings you to a bovine grazing field. The trig lies not far off the footpath to the right in a small copse.
