Walked up from small carpark near the top of the B4632. Lots of space around. An intricate network of paths across the common. Take your pick but watch out for golf balls. Must be tricky having a golf course on common land but everyone was very polite when I was there. The TP is situated very well with a convenient toposcope. Great views except for southwards. I carried on the the primary just a few hundred yards away.

Having knocked off the Cleeve Hill County Top and TP we followed the escarpment back around to this pillar. Great views down on Cheltenham, especially the Race Course and over to the Malvern Hills. Good Toposcope nearby the pillar to identify the various hills around and a couple of nice benches to sit and enjoy the views. Passed by a small quarry with interesting information boards about the local geology.

Parked at the bottom of the lane near the Golf Club. Followed the public footpath towards the top of the hill and then crossed a section of the golf course to the trigpoint. Great views, especially with the cloud inversion.

Multi repeat on linear walk from Cleeve Hill Village above the Rising Sun pub, with long term veggie pal David Ballinger, following the Cotswold Way route for the very first time, back underneath the Cotswolds escarpment, through to the River Chelt A40 Dowdeswell valley and Dave's house in Eastern Charlton Kings Cheltenham, before driving back out to our start to pick up my car. Excellent walk.

Parked in a lay-by on the B4632. Took the public right of way up to the pillar, which is next to the 16th hole (and the teeing area for the 17th) at the Cleeve Hill Golf Club. The area is called 'The Ring' as it used to be an ancient village, and it is on the northwest slope of Cleeve Hill. Tremendous view of Cheltenham Race Course from the summit. There is also a toposcope near to the pillar (2 of 7 today in and around Cheltenham).

I first visited this trig back in 2013, that that was before I started logging trigs. Six years on and I'm back in the area for an internship, so this was he perfect opportunity to find the trig again. There are some great views from the area, so it is definitely worth a visit.

A drippingly hot walk, something quite trance like about the baking sun, the attempt of the weather to turn stormy and the parched land jewelled with yellows, purples and pinks. Love exploring different places and this - away from the usual NW rambles feels strangely wild and ancient despite the proximity of Cheltenham and distant hints of the Midlands. On to the top after this, walking very, very slowly.

Walked up to this one from the main Cheltenham to Winchcombe road which is probably the harder route. Trig in the middle of the golf course and has a nice Topograph nearby too. Excellent views to Malvern and Sugerloaf beyond and on clearer days I have see the Severn Bridge and the Black mountains from here.

Bagged as YSM269 The Ring. Arrived at the carpark at 4.30pm, lots of signs saying "this car park will be locked at 5pm sharp". Blimey 800m to trigpoint, could I get there and back in 1/2 hour? Well I did and I managed to bag the earthcache too, well chuffed with myself! I have never walked so fast.

Cycled up the B4632 out of Winchcombe and then up the lane to the golf course and then along farm tracks. not too bad a cycle as the hills arent too steep, they just go on for a long time. Near the TP is a viewing station. Lovely cool wind up here and bright blue skys. The TP has Cotswold way pointers on it.

Lovely walk up from the roadside car parks and onto the edge of the golf course. Passed an interesting former quarry with geology notes board. In my teaching days I may have passed a happy hour rooting about. I thought this was the County Top but luckily I decided to go onto the pillar beyond the masts - Cleeve Hill.

Left Winchcombe road and past Golf Club, then straight ahead up track on bike. Left at store hut and walked to pillar taking care not to disturb golfers. Although warm and sunny the view was marred by mist.

Very snowy but sunny day (so no golfers or sheep)! But did meet a cross country skier en route from Cleeve Hill tp just to SE, and there was much evidence of snow kite boarding (thanks - your tracks were much easier to walk in!). Great views - tops of the Malverns floating above mist in the vale, very spooky .

Parked at the masts at SO994248 and walked the 1.16 miles to The Ring in 22 mins, scattering sheep as I ambled along! Strangely the northern part of the common seems to have several golf greens protected by electric fences and golfers mingle with the sheep here. Stunning views from the trig and even better from the edge (100m or so further west). Pillar now has Cotswold Way roundels on the SW and NW faces. FB faces SW and all sightholes are still open. Cleeve Hill (TP0007) - a Primary station at Gloucestershire’s county top - is a 1.4 mile walk from here.

First trigpoint of day 2 and what a splendid one to start with. I parked in the old quarry adjacent to the Golf Club. From there is was an easy walk to the pillar… taking care to watch out for golfers (or more specifically, their balls). The pillar is in good condition and complete with all it’s metalwork. The views are very good indeed with an unusual view over Cheltenham Racecourse to the south west. Close by is a ‘View Point’ with distances and directions to visible landmarks.

Bit confused here as this trig is the lower of 2 trigs on Cleeve Hill (i was gutted when i got home to find that i'd missed the 330m one). Easy parking,good views all the way to Black Mountains & Severn Bridge, toposcope (somebody has scratched the correct height of Worcester Beacon onto this).

It was calm earlier at Cleeve Hill but by the time I got here it was blowing a gale. All four sighting holes open, one of them smaller than usual. Views are slightly better from the nearby bench than at the trig. Plug - my first with raised lettering - still there.

I thought I had never been here before and then last night I dug out the OS map and saw a ring around the trig and realised that I was up here on the longest day 20 years ago. The event was and still is called the Sun Run, a scouting event I think, a night 24 mile hike between here and the Malverns. Lots of people around today and a group of people induldging in a strange sport of hitting white balls with sticks.

Great views from this pillar, which is situated on a golf course near a topograph. Do not mistake this for Cleeve Hill trig point, which is a coupel of miles to the south. Access is easy as the Cotswold Way runs right past it.

This was a bit of a double whammy! Came here after seeing Lincoln beaten by two Cheltenham goals in the last 5 minutes! Parked in the carpark by the golf course and climbed up to the pillar - thinking it was Cleeve Hill!! But.... it wasn't! I can't believe that no-one has been here before. The views from the pillar are marvellous, especially southwest over Cheltenham, west towards Wales and northwest to the Malverns. There is an adjacent aluminium toposcope. The pillar is fully intact including the plug. The NW and SW faces have a 'Cotswold Way' footpath arrow on them. The base is very solid. I went in the evening, so the views with the lights going on were spectacular and I missed all the golfers, as you have to walk over a golf-course to get here. It must be in line for the 'Best Views from a Golf-Course' award!

Banished from under mother's feet during preparations for Christmas so walked up here - grey but very mild and clear day so great views all the way to the Clun Hills in Shropshire (I think!). Old Man took interesting approach to the stile opp Rising Sun on the way back by tripping up the pavement first and catapulting over it as a result! Fortunately not injured.

Christmas Day walk with the Old Man, father and Sis#3 (who drove us up to the golf club with the hand brake on!)

Ihad been there before, again mistaking it for Cleeve Hill Summit. On the way to Heathrow and Lisbon. No photos or data , so not logged. A familiar landmark(as is the other Cleeve Hill trig) when orienteering here.
