5/5 from Warren Wood. Up around the ridge on PROW taking in Nyth Grug, Radnor Forest, Black Mixen and Badland Hill. From Badland Hill down into New Radnor then across the main road and up The Smatcher. Walked up to Smatcher cottage, then through a couple of fields to the Trig. Clouds finally cleared showing us the views we had been missing. Prominent steep sided hills all around, nestled between a patchwork of agricultural fields. Trig sits in a beet field in a mound. Trig is in excellent condition with the spider, plug and FB intact.

Had just visited Water Break Its Neck waterfall and checked for any nearby trigs to come and look at and this one was not too far away and didn't involve a walk up to that would take too long. Drove up the very steep road off the A44 from the Old Station Tea Room and camp site. It was a 1st gear job and I did approach a car coming the opposite way at the steepest point believe it or not, but fortunately there was a gateway right beside where we met for me to pull in to. Parked on the verge just passed the cottage on the right at the stat of the footpath. No FP sign beside the road, but my OS Map App had signal which helped, but you can see the trig from the road anyway, then its just a case of a couple of gates and a slight divert to the right off the footpath. Trig in great condition and so is the cap, spider and flush bracket. great 360 degree views and the weather was fantastic today - in fact I had my shorts on for the first time this year.

Final trig of the day after putting the tent up at The Old Station Campsite just down the road and before the New Radnor benchmark hunt and an evening in the Radnor Arms. Another one with really good 360deg views. Pillar, retaining much of its white paint, in good condition; original cap in place; all sight holes open. Pleasant, if stiff, walk up from the camp site. Frisky and inquisitive herd of White Park cattle in the trig field, but didn't give me too much hassle.
