Bagged on a pleasant 6 mile circular walk from Malham. Limited views from the actual trig due to it being positioned close to a dyke but wide ranging views from the moorland around and good to get away from the riff raff! This was another trig that had been on my to-bag list for 4.5 years so great to get it in the bag at long last!

Walking John Coppacks "Kendals Limestone Way" - Skipton to Kendal a 63 mile route which is ideal for a winters jaunt. Done and dusted in 4 days. Weets is a few metres off the PRoW and your last chance of tranquility before hitting the "flesh pots" of Malham (visit in winter). I am a few years short of receiving my bus pass, so the recently introduced £2 fare gets a giant thumbs up and gifted the 2 pillars today.

We were doing one of the Pathfinder Short Walks around Malham so branched at the start of the Gordale Scar path to head up Hawthorns Road. A steady slog up the road for about 3/4 mile, then 1/4 mile up the FP to Weets Top. At the gate, with the remains of Weets Cross, turn left, pass the actual summit marked by a large boulder in the wall and the pillar is a few paces further on. Nice views to the SE of Cracoe Fell and Sharp Haw plus Pendle Hill to the South. Simply retraced route back to Gordale Scar, finished walk and had a couple of beers in The Lister Arms in Malham.

This is on of two pillars bagged during an 11 mile circular walk from Malham. Just a few yards off the way marked path it is clearly visible beside the wall. The pillar is in good condition but the centre is missing from the spider. There are great views in all directions.

It's a long, dull trek up from Calton but it seemed worthwhile having a revisit whilst in the vicinity. It's been a decade or so since I last visited. The pillar sits proudly off the nearby footpath, close to a dry stone wall. It has stunning views in all directions, and is in fine condition except for the broken replacement cap, which is filled with litter.

Beautiful area, but Malham village seething with tourists. Presumably the National Park would prefer them to be spread out more evenly, but has made things worse by sighting the National Park visitor centre there!

Walked up on a revisit from Malham National Trust carpark after arriving on the 10.40 884 Dales bus from Skipton,Rivet BM hunting following RT's footsteps along the way.Great weather fantastic views on a very warm day,off to the Lister Arms Malham for a pint of Aspall's now before 14.40 bus back to Skipton.All on a £12 Dales Freedom Rover ticket purchased on the 09.45 X43 Grassington bus in Foulridge.Also well done to Gill Stephens on her english Marilyn completion,sorry I couldn't be there.

The perfect digestif after a main course ramble up Gordale Scar to Water Sinks and back over Malham Cove (not literally.) The Weets has good extensive views all round of the Nat. Parks tableland and a bonus of a monastic wayside cross (minus the crosspiece) within a few yards.

Back to cycling and trigging after a day off on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Walked up to foot of Gordale Scar first - many years since I was last here. HISTORY: Pillar completed 15th June 1949 costing £13.3s.1d. Computed as secondary triangulation station SD96/16 within the Skipton block during 1951. Levelled for height in 1954. Last maintained by the OS in June 1976. SITE VISIT: Approached from south west. Parked on public road in Calton just before road end at SD909592. Up via trig pillar S5560 (Calton) rejoining the bridleway at SD916609, this route continues to the top and beyond. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracker faces south, ~180°. Vented through three sight holes, east face still plugged, innards filled with debris. Full 360° panoramic view.

Today me, Marie and Hayden had a great walk starting at Malham Tarn then we walked to Malham Cove then into Malham and had a pint at the Buck Inn. Then we walked to Janet's Foss falls, then a short detore to the Weets trig, then back towards Janet's Foss and into Gordale Scar, then up the waterfall in Gordale Scar and on we went bake to Malham Tarn.

Old Man drew the line at more walking in the rain, so a tour of the Dales via Hawes (v interesting rope makers and the Crown also good), Beckermonds, Buckden, Arncliffe and Malham. Persuaded the driver to sneak in this trig en route, great all round views on a grey evening. All s/holes except E, and centre, open, but otherwise vgc.

Camping at Gordale for two nights in some testing weather. Fortunately, the rain cleared for this one which was only a short walk from camp up Hawthorns Lane then off SE along the bridleway which runs virtually to the trig. Plug missing but condition good. Really really good 360 view and away from the endless tourists of the cove and scar. Classic.

Walked in along the surprisingly firm footing of the bridleway after bagging Calton. No surprise that this has 3 times the number of logs as that trig - this is a doddle, right by the path and within a short walk of Gordale Scar. Could do with some white paint to make it stand out against the wall. Views of many Dales tops. 2nd of 3 today as I headed off across to Kilnsey Moor.

Passed this pillar whilst walking with my walking group - The Irregulars, LDWA. So this was an opportunity too good to miss. Easily accessible and visible adjacent to public footpath. Plug missing otherwise in good condition. Good views from this elevated position.

Found this trig while Geocaching nearby. This trig is also a YOSM Geocache so I got two for the price of one!

Parked on lane and then walked up bridleway. Largish group of ramblers having their lunch at trig point. One moved his flask and sandwich box so I could take photos! Think plug was missing. Stands by wall. Views to S & W.

One of the best February walking days for years, T shirt weather in fact,and a nice walk from Gordale bridge (excellent snackbar there who serve a grand cup of Tea).We called at this trig whilst doing a couple of nearby caches.

Bagged this trig on a circular walk with my son, Charlie(9), up Gordale Scar to Mastiles Lane and back to the trig via Smearbottoms Lane. Very windy day but the rain kept off.

Came up from Gargrave via Haw Crag and Calton trigs. Nice steady walk along the bridleway. Lovely view despite the weather doing it's best to thwart it. Views across the limestone pavements at Gordale & above Malham were particularly nice when the sun showed it face. Nice 360 vista. No cars, on foot.

Walked up from Hanlith on the way from Long Preston to Linton. Lunch sitting in the sun admiring the views. Pendle was hazy, but Great Whernside was clear.

Paths up from Winterburn/Calton used to be very soggy; now much improved. Good views of Cracoe memorial, Flasby Fell and Pendle. Easy track down to road.

Only about 400m walk to get to this one which came up as part of 'Ye Olde Survey Monuments' cache. Not too sure about the view as is was getting dark when we got there!
