(861) Visiting family in Hinckley, so put aside some time to bag some local trigs. Had hoped to do at least a few more, but it was such an incredibly hot stifling day, that my energy levels was quickly drained. Did manage to pop over the border into Warwickshire to visit this unusual pillar. Good to see another urban pillar preserved.

Possibly the weirdest location for a trig pillar I've come across so far, and a (literal) concrete symbol of how the countryside is being engulfed by houses. Still, it's good to see the pillar neatly preserved on its own little cobbled patch of pavement. I parked within three paces and was able to keep the camera dry despite the rain by the simple expedient of rolling down the car window and taking photos while still sitting in the drivers seat.
