Nice chunky raised lettered Cap on this BSM Pillar with only the SouthEast sight open.. the Base has probably been washed away by the automatic trough alongside over-filling. Well secreted Voda-Mast from my parking at the nearby boundaround. :D

Thornton Hill ..well techy auto-fill trough alongside!

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 23rd November 1945 costing 5.0s.6d. In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NS77/T60 in the Glasgow secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1967. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in September 1971. Spider has a replacement but genuine OS centre cap which has raised lettering. The flush bracket is numerically the earliest non primary trig pillar in Secondary Block NS77. BsM flush bracket with S above the number. On grazing land. GRP 1/08/1990.
